Switzerland with McLaren

We went to Switzerland (and quick (fast) visit to Annecy, France) together with McLaren. We had the nice opportunity to take one 720s and one 720s Spider on a nice ride around the alps.

Fortunately we had time to grab some photos of the cars and also took a video of one ride up the mountain in Annecy. I would love to go back to Annecy, it is such a nice area.

We also had the opportunity to see the new 720s version that is out now. The McLaren cars are something special, extremely fast and not too common on the streets. From what I understand, only 1000 cars are sold worldwide. Don’t quote me on that though.

And to top it of, a Richard Mille watch was in the area as well. One million dollar for this one. It’s called Richard Mille Speedtail and it comes with the McLaren Speedtail car. As always, thanks for visiting and I hope to see you around.

How to start a website - My simple and quick guide

If you’ve ever thought about starting a website, I understand it might feel a bit overwhelming, especially for someone who has never done it before. Regardless of how you feel about starting your own website or place on the internet, it is easier than you think and definitely more important now than ever before.

Introduction

This site is a Squarespace site, it is easy to set up and start with and reasonably priced. The cheaper alternative is buying a web-hotel and start your own site with Bluehost.

All my other sites (I have a number of them) are run with Bluehost. Bluehost has worked perfectly for me and my needs and for domains, I use one.com if I just want to buy a domain name.

So what do you need to start a website? Well here you go, a complete and simple list of what you need to start or consider yourself a website owner (is that a word?).

  • An idea of why you need a website (doesn’t have to super serious)

  • A name or domain name for your site

  • A web hotel (this is usually the same place and time when you buy your domain name.)

  • Design the site or ask someone to help you (this is easier than it sounds.)

  • Activate your site, put it up there and let people find it

Done! This is actually all you need.

What should you use?

So, it all comes down to what you want to do and why you need a website. For the usual blog or portfolio, you can use either Squarespace or Bluehost. There are others like Wix (but I don’t like them for different reasons).

I want my website to work and be easy to maintain. Some like Wordpress and with Bluehost you can use Wordpress directly with their service. Easy, quick and cheap.

Another thing to consider if you need all the functions you usually pay for. Sometimes you just want bare minimum, I mean, a working site. Other times, you want something robust that can deal with thousands of visitors each day or week. It all comes down to what you expect and need from your site.

Also, starting your very first site is like starting your first company, you’ll learn a lot straight away and next time you start a company or site you will have a better understanding of what you need and want.

Below are some services and things I use almost weekly in my work and on my websites. In the future, I might share what sites I own and so on but for now, I’ll settle with sharing some great resources. ;)

smart design and website resources

Bluehost - Web hotel and services, this is what I use for all new websites and mentioned above.

Bluehost - Start your own website

One.com - This is where I buy my domains. They can also help you with your new website. Easy, just as Bluehost.

One.com - Save money

conclusion

While this post is a quick rundown of how to make or start your first website. It is actually easier, cheaper and faster than you might think. You might wonder why I write a post about websites on my site, well, there is one reason for this and that is a major one… You need to be found today, it is the same reason we all started using social media, to be found and to find people we want to interact with. Simple as that.

If you just started your website or if you have one you want me to take a look at, please write it in the comment section or ask me and I’ll take a look.

As always, thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day, wherever you are.

Some books are better today

I was just looking through my list of books on Amazon and thought I should share them here for everyone. The thing is, these books are just as good, maybe even better today than before. Each link goes to my quick reviews, if you want to know more about each book, there is more information on Amazon or google them. So without further ado, here we go.

Introduction

The first book is one that really made me stop and think, maybe also one of the few books that I actually couldn’t stop reading… The book is of course Papillon by Henri Charrière.

The second book did also make me think, it is pretty straight forward really and it could’ve been written by anyone in a sense. You can say this book is a list of different ways you can make your life easier and more efficient. The book is called The 4 hour work week by Timothy or Tim Ferriss.

Now to all the business and marketing books in no particular order. Each one of these books are worth your time and if you haven’t read them, you will gain quite a lot from them. The names should give you an idea of what each book is about and you’ll find more info on the respective link.

Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher, William Ury and Bruce Patton

Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference By Malcolm Gladwell

The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Conclusion

These books above, in this post, will make a difference in your life. That is if you actually read them. As with most things in life, they will make a difference if you let them and if you make the changes you want. The least I can do is promise you that it will be worth your time reading them. If not, let me know.

As always, thank you for visting.

Bentley Continental GTC in Northern Sweden

A couple of weeks ago we went on a road trip with a Bentley Continental GT Convertible and a Tesla Model 3. We thought we should try the Bentley in a cold climate and actually use the car as intended.

Most people don’t use their cars fully, especially not a convertible so this was a good test for the car and for us as well.

A couple of years ago I drove a convertible from Los Angeles, California to Las Vegas, Nevada. That car was not made for cold weather and in Nevada, it was probably just above zero degrees Celcius so it was quite an adventure, especially at night. Anyways, the Bentley was something else… You can see how technology has changed lately, some aspects of driving is so different now and not to mention the comfort neck heaters, great sound and so on.

Some pictures below…

Above are some pictures from the trip. If you have a convertible, please try to use it as much as possible, I promise it is worth it.

Thanks for visiting. I will soon release a lot of articles regarding film investments and extraordinary visas to the UK and the US.

Drones and the DJI Mavic Air 2

This is probably old news for you and maybe out of context here on my site but for anyone who hasn’t tried flying a drone lately, things have changed, quite drastically. It is pretty cool how well drones work nowadays, especially with the help of AI and the different ways a drone can be used today. Even with small sensors, the quality is simply great.

So this summer I took my Mavic Air 2 to Sandhamn during a boat trip. I took the drone to a safe altitude and selected the boat on the screen and pressed “GO”. Instantly the drone started following the boat and it did this surprisingly well.

I’ve added the video above to show you actually how good it did following the boat. The only thing I changed was the altitude and even this was handled better than expected, it compensated this with increased speed and so on. Just as an old school helicopter…

I never thought I would write a post about a drone but here I am, writing about a drone. If you have some money over and plan on using a drone, the Mavic Air 2 is highly recommended.

You can find one on Amazon below or why not on the official DJI site.

I know, this is a shameless plug for DJI but the drone really is that good. Not only is the drone itself just pure quality but the footage it gets with that little camera is pure and so easy to work with. Just make sure to use the drone if you buy one.
